As Christmas approaches, it is so easy to get swept up in the other cool things of Christmas. The things we want, the family that visits, the Christmas plays make it so easy to forget what the true meaning of Christmas, the reason this is all happening in the first place is. Jesus. God sent his only Son to die an awful death for us since God loved us so much. He came down so low to serve us. I speak for us all when I say that when you give the perfect gift to someone and see their expression of gratefulness, it is better than getting the perfect gift. That is how God felt.
Merry Christmas!

A Poem I Wrote
FALL
The warm summer mornings
And the cool, quiet nights,
Turn to hot chocolate hoardings
And cold weather frights.
The trees of all colors
Start shedding their leaves,
Get out all the rakes
And grab leaves by the heaves.
You wake in the morning
To frost coated grounds,
And arrow shaped bird groups
All proclaiming "Fly South!"
That time of the year
Is almost here,
The spectacular season of fall.

The Art Of Babysitting
For me, babysitting is not really a chore, it is sitting with your baby sisters watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory for a few hours. It is a chance to hear one of your sisters cry about the dog eating her food when she is not looking, or holding a baby on your lap petrified at Augustus Gloop. Either way, it is kind of fun to feel responsible, that is when nothing bad happens. Over all, it is a chance to spend time with young loved ones.

The Olympics
Okay, so for me as a huge sports fan, the Olympics are awesome. I love seeing all of the best athletes in the world do what everybody dreams that they could do. My favorite part of the Olympics so far is when the USA Olympic swimmers in the 800M free style relay race. They SHATTERED the world record by like three seconds. It amazes me how talented these athletes are. Last night I saw the gymnastics, and I was amazed at how high they could jump, how many flips they could do, and how smoothly they could do it. GO USA!!!

The Contest
I was in the local singing contest yesterday. I was planning on singing Viva la Vida for the longest time, but they didn't have it on the Karaoke machine, so my dad called them up and told them that i wanted to sing Life Is A Highway. When I learned what happened, i was nervous because i didn't know half of the words. Also, when i got back from youth group on friday night, I had a 101.1 tempurature. I had to memorize all the words, learn how to sing it, while trying to overcome a fever. Before I left for the contest, I had a 100.1 temperature. I got up and sang and had a lot of fun. I didn't win, but it was a good experience for me.

So far this week
This week, we are doing VBS (vacation bible school) at our church. It is a lot of fun to be there and help out. We have done some pretty cool things, like flag tag, the worship is always great, the skits are fun, and tomorrow we are going to play dodgeball. Im also going to be in a singing competition at the local fair. It will be fun.

My day
Today, Aunt Keila made us lunch. It was spaghetti noodles with bacon, chicken, and mushrooms. It was really good. Later on, Hannah and I went with Uncle Ben and Billy to start to make a movie introduction for VBS. We even had to climb Vroomans Nose to get about 45 seconds worth of video, but it was worth the hike.
Later on, Uncle Ben went far down the road to jog back for the skit, and a police car pulled up and i had to talk to him,( he was just making sure that there wasnt a problem.) That was probably the most nerve-wracking part of the day.
